La Fete Du Tour at Drewton’s

On Wednesday 4th June, guests are invited to Drewton’s for La Fete du Tour Dinner, which promises to be an evening of great food and entertainment in celebration of the Grand Depart. coming to Yorkshire.
Guests will be served a Yorkshire Tour themed menu and will also get the chance to hear Gary Verity CEO of Welcome to Yorkshire, speak about this exciting event as well as well-known cycling journalist Peter Cossins.
Peter Cossins has written about professional cycling since 1993 and is a contributing editor to Procycling magazine and is the editor of the Official Tour de France Programme. He is the author of The Monuments: The Grit and the Glory of Cycling’s Greatest One-Day Races (Bloomsbury, March 2014) and has translated Christophe Bassons’ autobiography A Clean Break, which is published by Bloomsbury on 3 July.

The menu will be created using ingredients supplied by Yorkshire Food and drink producers, some of which are based along the route of le tour. The fun dress code for the evening is black tie and cycling shorts.

Drewton’s proprietor Katie Taylor said: “We’ve organised this La Fete du Tour dinner to help bring the festivities to our part of the county and help get everyone in the mood. Although the route of the race doesn’t pass through East Yorkshire, the fact that Yorkshire is hosting the race is great news for the entire region. The influx of visitors can only be good news for businesses across the region and I’m sure many of them will extend their stay and take time to see what else this wonderful part of the world has to offer.”
