LOCAL PRODUCERS RE-UNITE TO LAUNCH SERIOUSLY GOOD CHRISTMAS CAKE ICE CREAM

Award-winning artisan ice cream maker Yummy Yorkshire is launching a special Christmas Cake ice cream in time for the festive season.

The ‘Lottie Shaw’s Seriously Good Christmas Cake’ ice cream is a collaboration between Huddersfield based Yummy Yorkshire and the award-winning Lottie Shaw’s bakery located in Elland.

The flavour is made with the craft bakery’s original Luxury Fruit Cake made using fruit soaked in local beer from Little Valley Brewery at Cragg Vale, West Yorkshire – and is available now from Yummy Yorkshire’s ice cream parlour and café. It is also available in catering sizes for the specialist deli/retail, catering and foodservice markets.

Louise Holmes, co-founder of Yummy Yorkshire and responsible for the development of new flavours says “We have previously worked with Lottie Shaw’s to create a ‘Seriously Good Yorkshire Parkin’ ice cream which has been hugely popular with our customers so it made sense to develop this new flavour using another of their products.

“Contrary to what you might expect, ice cream is very popular at this time of year ““ many of our customers see it as a delicious alternative to Christmas Pudding. We always have a big queue of customers out of the ice cream parlour on Christmas Eve making some last minute purchases and I’m sure that our new Seriously Good Christmas Cake flavour will be a big hit.”

Lottie Shaw’s was founded by Charlotte Shaw, mother of two who left a 10 year career in sales and marketing with Diageo, the world’s leading premium drinks company, to work in the family business. She adds: “We are excited to work with fellow producer Yummy Yorkshire in the development of these ice creams. It is the perfect partnership to bring our family recipes to ice cream lovers across the region and beyond. “

In addition to the Christmas Cake ice cream, Yummy Yorkshire has also rolled out the following limited edition festive flavours; Chocolate Orange, Figgy Pudding and Biscotti Irish Cream.

All flavours are available to buy on the cone and in 500ml take-away tubs priced at £3.75 each from Yummy Yorkshire’s ice cream parlour located off the A629 between Huddersfield and Penistone.
