Masons reopens its doors to visitors

The team at Masons Yorkshire Gin are set to reopen their doors to the public.

The Bedale based company were forced to halt their popular distillery tours due to the Covid lockdown rules last year but are now set to welcome visitors back from 2nd July 2021.

Home to their award winning range, gin enthusiasts will once again be able to learn the art of distilling, develop their senses and delve into a guided tasting of the Masons range, as well as having the opportunity to attend a cocktail evening where they can learn the coveted art of mixology.

Founded by husband and wife team Karl and Cathy Mason on World Gin Day in 2013, Masons was the first distillery to be established in Yorkshire and pioneered the gin boom in the county.

Having tried many whilst in pursuit of a gin that wasn’t just another label, the Mason’s aim was to create an exceptional gin with more character, flavour and quality and their ever expanding range has since been internationally recognised with a host of industry awards.

Karl said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors back through the door.

“Yorkshire is known nationally for its outstanding plethora of top food and drink producers, and we want to be part of driving this forward. There’s been lots of exciting things going on behind the scenes over the last few months including some new flavour releases so we’re looking forward to being able to share these with visitors again.”

The Made the Masons Way Distillery Experience will take visitors on a true journey of gin, from its more debauched past to its soaring popularity, all whilst exploring the distillery at the hands of the experts and a guided gin tasting in Masons’ gin laboratory will teach you tips and techniques for detecting the aromas and subtleties of the Masons range, right from Masons Original right through to its Special Editions.

Led by Masons of Yorkshire’s in house mixologists, the unique Cocktail Experience includes a vibrant history of cocktails and how the classics we have come to know and love took shape – followed by sampling the best loved Masons cocktails and how to make them. The experience also includes a welcome Masons G&T in the distillery bar and four Masons Cocktails, following a demo of how each is made and the chance to get behind the bar and have a go!

Bookings are now open and Distillery Experience tickets cost £20.00 per person and include a £5 voucher for the Distillery shop. Cocktail Experience tickets are £40.00 per person. For more information and to book online visit www.masonsofyorkshire.com
