New look for Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil products

The team at a North Yorkshire rapeseed oil business has refreshed its range with a new look, new products and new pack sizes following consumer feedback.

In a bid to communicate provenance and usage suggestions, the team at Thixendale based Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil have made several changes to their brand of award-winning oils, dressings and mayonnaise.

Jason Thompson, who is responsible for the brands recipe development said: “Following the results of a customer questionnaire, we’ve worked on redesigning our labels with clearer messaging that give customers inspiration on how to use them as well as highlighting the provenance of our home pressed rapeseed oil products. We’ve also addressed the waste issue highlighted by customers by reducing the size of certain lines and have introduced new products alongside some reformulated recipes.”

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Lemon Mayonnaise is one of the first products to launch with the new look.  Featuring a smaller size and a new recipe, the product has previously been awarded a coveted two stars at the Great Taste Awards in 2021 with the judging panel praising the product and noting it’s “rich golden appearance and wonderful fresh citrus aroma, along with its smooth, creamy mouthfeel and balanced fresh flavour. A product made with finesse, with all the different ingredients working in harmony to produce an excellent classic lemon mayonnaise.”

The Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil Deli range also now includes a new 250ml Rosemary and Sea Salt Oil for roasting and using in oil base sauces along with a Basil Oil and Chilli and Spice Oil which have both been reformulated with new and improved recipes.

Founded by husband and wife team Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the Yorkshire Wolds, the Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil team produce their award-winning range using only home grown and locally sourced rapeseed oil produced their by parent company, Breckenholme.

Their now extensive range of products are all pressed, blended, bottled and labelled by the team on site and are stocked throughout the country at farm shops and independent retailers as well appearing of the menus of cafes and restaurants nationwide.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Marketing Manager, Jennie added: “Thanks to the support from our customers, the Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil brand has grown well, both in our Yorkshire heartland and further afield, since we launched in 2008.

“Following consumer research, we concluded that there was an opportunity to refresh our packaging and range in order to reinforce our provenance and to engage consumers via storytelling and suggestions on how to use them in different ways.

“We’re really looking forward to getting feedback on the new flavours and formulations as well as getting back out and meeting customers face to face again at farmers markets and food festivals around the country this year.”
