A North Yorkshire artisan producer of award winning rapeseed oil has chosen the fifth Farm Shop and Deli Show to launch its latest venture to the trade.
The brainchild of farmer Adam Palmer and his wife, Jennie, Charlie & Ivy’s is a range of 17 British rapeseed oil based gourmet dipping oils, dressings and mayonnaise that designed for home entertaining.
Adam Palmer said that the idea for Charlie & Ivy’s evolved as the food loving couple experimented with their favourite ingredients and flavours:
“We’ve always enjoyed different bread dippers when eating out or when entertaining at home, so we decided to share some of our favourite home-made bread dipper combinations, but ready mixed for convenience.”
‘Deliciously Delightful’ bread dippers are based on a Great Taste Two Star Gold winning British cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil and comprises six gourmet dipping oils;
Mediterranean inspired Garlic, Oregano & Balsamic; full flavoured Rosemary, Thyme & Lemon with Red Wine Vinegar; zingy and spicy Chilli, Ginger & Garlic; Gin and Tonic inspired Lemon, Balsamic and Juniper Berry; warming Cumin, Chilli & Coriander Seed and full bodied Smoked Garlic and Black Peppercorn that is based on Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s award winning oak smoked rapeseed oil.
In addition to dipping, the flavoursome oils are delicious when added to pasta and pizza and for drizzling on salads. All of the dipping oils are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, GM and gluten free and each 200ml bottle costs £6.00.

Jennie Palmer is excited about the new venture: “We’re launching Charlie & Ivy’s to the trade following a very successful test marketing campaign at the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair in London.
“The bread dippers were very well received and customer feedback suggested that the combination of flavours was just what they were looking for.
“People who tasted the oils commented how they were full of natural flavour and how light the rapeseed oil made them compared to other dipping oils.”
The remaining products in the Charlie and Ivy’s range includes ‘Seriously Scrumptious’ dressings (£4.00 for 220ml), ‘Brilliantly British’ mayonnaise (£3.50 for 190g) and ‘Gloriously Golden’ natural and flavoured rapeseed oils (£3.50 for 250ml.)
The new brand, which also lends itself to the gifting market, is named after the Palmers’ two young children, Charlie, aged four and Ivy, aged one.
