New restaurant manager joins the Burlington Restaurant

The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa is delighted to announce the appointment of William Bonfield who comes on board as Restaurant Manager of the Burlington Restaurant. He joins Head Chef Adam Smith as they work together to create the ultimate dining experience at the 3 AA rosette restaurant in Yorkshire.

William, who is originally from Halifax in Yorkshire, has an impressive career within the hospitality industry, starting his career at the young age of 16 at a local country house hotel. He then progressed on to a local fine dining restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes, Design House, in Halifax, where he became Restaurant Manager aged only 21.

William accepted the position of commis waiter at the Michelin starred restaurant, The Box Tree, in 2008 after winning The Restaurant Association “Young Chef – Young Waiter” competition in the same year. It was at this competition William coincidently met Adam Smith, who was then at The Ritz, London.

Since then William has gained experience at a host of Michelin starred restaurants including La Trompette with Bruce Poole. Most recently William was manager at two London gastro pubs, The Prince of Wales in Putnet and The Bull and Last in Highgate.

“William has come on board at a really exciting time for the Burlington Restaurant, we’ve just announced our annual Food & Wine Week from 1st December giving us a great opportunity to showcase the Burlington. With our current 3 AA rosettes we are now aiming for even further success in the future”.

The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa Food & Wine Week will commence on 1st December running through to 7th December. The week of culinary experiences will include a host of award winning chefs from all the UK taking a residency at The Dev’ including Nigel Haworth from Northcote and Mark Birchall of L’enclume.
