NORTH YORKSHIRE FOOD COMPANY HAS CUSTOMERS AT ITS HEART

It’s secured more than seven awards in the last five years for its fruity liqueurs and its shooting parties, but this week Raisthorpe Manor received its most special accolade ““ an award nominated by its customers.

Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods and its sister shooting company Raisthorpe Flyers scooped a ‘Customer at the Heart’ award this week: recommended by members of the public for independent retailers who put customers first.

The Malton company, situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, was nominated by an anonymous customer and, after a mystery shop by the judges, was deemed worthy of the Customer at the Heart title for its commitment to its customers.

Julia Medforth, who runs the company with husband David, said they were completely shocked by the win. “It came as a total surprise to us when the Customer at the Heart team visited us this week with an official plaque to put on the wall!” said Julia. “We feel very honoured to receive it ““ we have a brilliant team here who are very enthusiastic about what they do and I think that comes across to our customers.”

Shooting party guests certainly get star treatment at Raisthorpe Manor with bacon butties and coffee on arrival before numerous drives, elevenses with Raisthorpe Manor fruit liqueurs, and a slap-up lunch.

“We really try hard to look after our guests and give them the best day possible ““ along with a little taste of our homemade drinks!” adds Julia.

Customer at the Heart was established in 2011 to celebrate and praise independent retailers whose level of service elevates them from the competition. Each venue is nominated by a member of the public and then a mystery shop is conducted. If the judges are “sufficiently wowed”, the nominee receives an award.

“There are independent businesses the length and breadth of Britain who put their customers first,” says retail expert and founder Kate Hardcastle. “Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods began as an accompaniment to Raisthorpe Flyers, providing homemade raspberry gin for shooting party guests. The popularity of the drink grew, along with the company, which has gone on to win numerous awards, with two of the liqueurs used in the cocktail bars at Harvey Nichols! Companies like Raisthorpe Manor are must-visits because their level of service elevates them from the competition. Their passion for ensuring they make their customers lives a bit easier, give them some cheer and add some colour sees them succeed where many others fail.”
