The team at a Thixendale based artisan oil business have expanded their product range this month with the introduction of a brand-new selection of marinades.
Family-run farm diversification business Charlie & Ivy’s have launched three new flavours of the oil-based marinades including Spicy Chorizo, Jerk and Peri-Peri which have been designed to be used to marinate vegetables, fish and meat before roasting, grilling and barbequing.
Using their Smoked Rapeseed Oil and Cold-Pressed Rapeseed Oil as a base for each, the marinades combine a mixture of carefully balanced herbs and spices and each can be used in a variety of ways to add a delicious hit of flavour for both home cooking and barbequing.
Marketing Manager, Jennie Palmer said: “Like lots of people, we’ve been experimenting with flavours during Lockdown and we wanted to introduce something new and different for our customers as they start to entertain at home again.
“Conversations that we’ve had with our customers suggested that marinades are a magnet for foodies looking for quick, easy and delicious ways to enhance the flavour of their food without making marinades from scratch so the idea was born and we’ve been working hard to perfect the new products and flavours over that last few months.”
Established in 2014 by husband and wife team Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the Yorkshire Wolds, the Charlie & Ivy team produce their range of award-winning artisan oils, dressings, bread dippers and mayonnaises using only locally sourced rapeseed oil produced their by parent company, Breckenholme.
Their now extensive range of products are all pressed, blended, bottled and labelled by their team on site and are stocked throughout the country at farm shops and independent retailers as well appearing of the menus of cafes and restaurants nationwide.
The new range of marinades are available to buy in 250ml bottles, are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and coeliacs and cost £4.50.
