The team at Bradford based Origin Fine Foods are celebrating after expanding their thriving business by opening a new shop in Otley.
Bucking the national trend of shop closures during the pandemic, Origin opened the doors to their new Otley store to the public on 1st December, just 12 hours after receiving the keys to the new premises.
Working overnight, the team set about transforming the empty space immediately, creating a local food emporium for Otley customers and selling an array of locally sourced products.
Director Jenni Weaver said: “I’m not one to sit back and rest, but even I didn’t think we could do it! The dream for Origin Fine Foods was always to expand and open more branches, but the past 18 months have seen us pivot and adapt to meet our community’s needs. Covid 19 has changed my business beyond recognition and has seen our local community become champions for our small Deli in Clayton.”
The Origins team were so well supported during the pandemic at their store near Bradford, when restrictions on shopping and travel made customers change the way they shopped, that expanding into other premises seemed like the natural progression for the thriving business.
Jenni continues: “When I spotted this shop in Otley, and discovered that the lease was available, I just knew I had to go for it! It’s been a challenge but I’m so pleased to have pulled it off, just in time for the Christmas shopping countdown.”
Opened officially by Otley Town Mayor Sylvia Thomson in a ceremony earlier this month, the new shop brings together the finest Yorkshire and locally sourced produce along with an impressive offering of artisan gins, Yorkshire foodie treats as well as handpicked Christmas hampers and will be open to the public until 6pm each day until December 23rd
Councillor Thomson said: “The team have obviously worked really hard getting the shop ready for opening and the window display already looks wonderful. We wish the team every success with their new venture in Otley.”
