Raisthorpe Secure Booths Listing and Gold Stars

RAISTHORPE DISTILLERY SECURE LISTING WITH BOOTHS AND GOLD STARS

Artisan drinks producer Raisthorpe Distillery are celebrating after securing a listing with supermarket chain Booths for its range of Yorkshire Tonics.

The Wolds based business who launched their range two years ago in response to consumer demand for premium flavoured tonics, will have their full range stocked at branches across the North of England.

Available in 500ml bottles, the tonics are produced in six flavours with their popular Apple and Elderflower version securing a Great Taste Award Gold Star this year and their Pink Grapefruit picking up 2 stars in 2019.

The tonics, which are also available from farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout the region have seen an increase in online sales during the coronavirus pandemic with consumers looking to support small, local businesses during lockdown.

Operations director Oliver Medforth said: “We’re delighted to now be stocked on Booths shelves which will enable us to reach a wider customer base with our premium product. Christmas will be different for all of us this year and our mixers are perfect for consumers to enjoy with friends and family at home.”

A family run business launched more than 10 years ago by Julia Medforth on their family farm, the Raisthorpe team are also celebrating after scooping two prestigious Gold Stars at this year’s Great Taste Award for their Damson Gin.

The judging panel, which included chefs, buyers, food writers and critics said the gin had a:“Beautiful colour and a really lovely fruity aroma of cherries, almonds and the ripe damsons. Well-balanced, smooth and very drinkable, this could be enjoyed on its own over ice as a mixer to a cocktail or to flavour a fabulous glass of Champagne!”

Founder Julia said: “We’re delighted that our products have gained these highly respected accolades against some really tough competition. We knew our Damson Gin was good – it is the chosen gin for the bedrooms at luxury hotel Grantley Hall – but it’s great to receive further independent endorsement from experts. The Great Taste Awards provide a benchmark of quality for artisan food producers and mean that consumers can be confident that our products taste as great as they look.
