REGIONAL FOOD GROUP ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH THE HOME OF YORKSHIRE FARMING.

Yorkshire’s Regional Food Group, deliciouslyorkshire, has announced a new partnership with the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Deliciouslyorkshire, which has a long standing working relationship with Askham Bryan College, York, will now strengthen its links with the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. Deliciouslyorkshire staff will relocate to the Society’s offices at The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.

The interests of members and highlighting the links between Yorkshire food and farming will remain the cornerstone for this mutually beneficial tri-partnership. The move signifies times of change as deliciouslyorkshire also welcome a new Chair of the Board with Nick Stafford, Managing Director of Hambleton Ales taking up the post.

Mr Stafford said: “These are exciting times for deliciouslyorkshire and we’re thrilled to announce what we hope will be a long and fruitful allegiance between deliciouslyorkshire, The Yorkshire Agricultural Society and Askham Bryan College. Farming and agriculture is at the very heart of Yorkshire’s food industry and we hope to use this partnership to cement further our relationship with Yorkshire’s farmers and producers.”

Amongst the benefits of this news is that deliciouslyorkshire members will receive 10% discount on stands in the food hall at the 2014 Great Yorkshire Show.

Heather Parry, Deputy Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society said: “We’re really looking forward to working more closely with deliciouslyorkshire and I’m confident that the new partnership will offer up lots of new advantages and opportunities to all of our members. Yorkshire has a fantastic and vibrant food and drink scene and we are looking forward to building on the work of deliciouslyorkshire and further championing the region’s food and drink businesses.”

While DY will be based at the showground, Askham Bryan College will continue to support deliciouslyorkshire by providing learning and development facilities for the organisation’s members.

Liz Philip, College Principal said: “Askham Bryan College and deliciouslyorkshire have pledged to continue the strong working relationship which we have developed over the last few years. The college continues to provide deliciouslyorkshire and its members with subsidised food based education and training as well as joining forces for open days such as Lambing Sunday.”
