A Harrogate based Indian food business has launched a new range of spice mixes inspired by the surge in popularity of home cooking during lockdown.
Saffron Tree, owned and run by Monalisa Fathima, created the four new blends to encourage enthusiastic home cooks to try something different when creating dishes in the comfort of their own homes.
The TOGETHER blends include a spice mix which can be used to create a number of meat and vegetable-based curries as well as rice, pakora and naan blends which allow you to create authentic Indian dishes at home.
The new spice blends will sit alongside Saffron Tree’s already award-winning range of ready to eat dishes which are based on traditional recipes passed down from family and friends.
Monalisa said: “All of our current Saffron Tree’s products are based on much loved family recipes which are designed to be enjoyed together. During the lockdown when we were all spending more time at home, my thoughts turned to family and comfort food and what could be created in our own kitchens using simple store cupboard ingredients. I decided to combine the two to enable people to create something really special and comforting themselves.
“The spice blends are designed to be incredibly versatile and can be used to make any number of delicious, medium-heat dishes and can be combined with chicken, lamb, beef, seafood, vegetables, paneer or even boiled eggs!
“Cooking is such a great way to bring everyone together and as people have become more adventurous in the kitchen over recent weeks, hopefully our new blends will encourage them to create their own versions of their favourite dishes for their families.”
