Summer at the Feversham Arms

The Feversham Arms in Helmsley have announced a programme of summer events.

The award-winning, resort-style hotel which has its own outdoor swimming pool with al fresco dining terrace and two AA rosette Weathervane restaurant is set to host two cookery demonstrations to showcase a range of local produce.

Head Chef Jon Appleby will be hosting the first of two events on Tuesday, 18th July with the theme of summer dinner parties, and a second on Tuesday 5th September featuring seafood from the Yorkshire coast.

Joining the Feversham team last year, Jon honed his culinary skills for over two decades within the area’s finest hotels and inns, including Rockcliffe Hall, The Blue Lion at East Witton and Judges at Kirklevington.  Cooking in a modern British style, he has a passion for sourcing as locally, along with helping to sustain small independent businesses and artisan producers in the area.

Each event will showcase two dishes, followed by the sampling of the menu as a two-course set lunch in The Weathervane restaurant, accompanied by a glass of wine, with guests at the July event enjoying Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé, followed by Pan Roasted Chicken Supreme, Lyonnaise Potatoes, Asparagus, Poached Egg, Braised Hispi Cabbage, Bearnaise Sauce.

Priced at £45 per person, the event will include Jon’s demo, a two-course lunch, with a glass of wine, tea or coffee included.

Alongside the events, new season menus are now also available in the Weathervane, created using a host of tasty, locally sourced produce, from Queen Scallops, Prawn and Avocado cocktail, and Thai Crispy Beef salad to Confit Duck and Moules Frites, along with grazing boards, wraps, club sandwiches and Caesar salad on the terrace.
