The Devonshire Arms Launch its Third Summer Season

An award-winning restaurant in the Yorkshire Dales have launched their third season of special seafood summer dining experiences.

The Devonshire Arms, part of the Bolton Abbey Estate, announced the return of their popular Champagne & Seafood Terrace earlier this year, launching the unique dining experience last week for the warmer months ahead.

The elegant pop-up marquee has proven to be a popular addition with locals and tourists alike since it was first launched in the summer of 2020 after the easing of lockdown measures and offers diners the opportunity to enjoy uninterrupted views over the magnificent Dales, including Beamsley Beacon and the River Wharfe.

Part of the Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants Group, a collection of luxury hotel and restaurant properties which form part of The Duke of Devonshire’s hospitality businesses, The Devonshire Arms is located at ‘The Gateway to The Dales’ and the former coaching inn is now considered one of the finest country house hotels in the North of England along with its 3 AA rosette fine dining restaurant, The Burlington.

Visitors to this summer’s outdoor experience will enjoy ‘al fresco’ dining including freshly caught seafood, with shellfish sourced from the East Yorkshire coast accompanied by a glass of their favourite Champagne.

A must for all Champagne lovers, this year the Terrace will be showcasing all 16 Grand Marque Champagne Houses, in a selection rarely seen in one establishment, with the world’s finest Champagnes to choose from, including Laurent-Perrier, Bollinger, G.H. Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Perrier-Jouët, Ruinart, and even the rare Piper 2008.

The drinks menu will also include a range of summer wines and premium chilled beers to complement the delicate seasonal flavours of the seafood plates.

This year’s menu includes light bites such as Popcorn Mussels with Wild Garlic Mayonnaise, Seafood Linguine, Sundried Tomato and Samphire and Crab ‘hotdogs’ Brioche Roll, Guacamole and Grapefruit, whist Seafood sharing platters will feature a selection of taster dishes, such as Crispy Whitebait with Saffron Aioli, Potted Shrimp with Sourdough Croutes and Smoked Salmon, Capers, Lemon Crème Fraiche and Walnut Bread.
