The Proudfoot Group celebrates Yorkshire Day at its Newby Store

Local supermarket chain The Proudfoot Group is celebrating Yorkshire Day on 1st August with a special event day, which will be held at its Newby store located on Scalby Road from 12 noon until 4pm.
The event will celebrate all things Yorkshire with more than 15 local food and drinks suppliers offering free tasting samples of their delicious products including Yorkshire Tea, Hughes Bakery, World Top Yorkshire Brewery, Anna’s Happy Trotters Free Range Pork and Wensleydale Creamery.
At 2pm The Proudfoot Group will also be presenting a £1,000 cheque to Scarborough Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Fund which was raised through the Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity through its membership with Nisa Retail.
The Proudfoot Group makes a number of donations throughout the year through the MADL charity and guests at the event day can find out more information about the scheme through promotional activity taking place in store on Yorkshire Day. The group would also like to encourage any local charities to nominate their charity or good cause to receive a donation.
The store will also be taking part in the Sizzling Sausage competition as part of the Yorkshire Festival. The Proudfoot Group will be entering two of its popular free range sausages into the competition; the Yorkshire Free Range Pork and Leek Sausages and Yorkshire Free Range Pork and Chilli Sausages, which takes place on 3rd August at Scarborough Indoor Market. The sausages are made by Keith Wilson, butcher at the Proudfoot store in Newby, using East Yorkshire’s Anna’s Happy Trotters Free Range Pork with fresh leeks and chillies.
