Thixendale business reaches the final of prestigious magazine food awards

The team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil are celebrating after one of their award winning products reached the final of this year’s prestigious delicious. magazine awards.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Honey and Mustard Dressing has been selected to represent the North East Region in the national final in the From the Earth (Artisan) Category that rewards products made in the UK, using largely British, ethically grown crops.

Now in their second year, the delicious. awards are a celebration of Britain’s greatest goods and the people who produce them, with sustainable ingredients, skilled craftsmanship and incredible food at their heart.

The honey and mustard dressing, which already boasts a one star award from the Guild of Fine Food, is a combination of award winning cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil and wholegrain mustard from fellow Yorkshire business, Bracken Hill Fine Foods.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil founder, Adam Palmer said: “We’re delighted to be representing the North East in these awards for the second year running and were thrilled with the judges’ feedback.”

Impressed by Adam’s ingenuity in diversifying and rejuvenating the family business while safeguarding the surrounding environment, the judges liked the collaboration with other local food producers to create a product that showcases the strengths of the region.

Other shortlisted artisan producers from the area include Skipton based Hesper Farm Skyr, Burtree Puddings from Darlington, Drewton’s Farm Shop in South Cave, T Soanes & Son Poultry near Driffield, and Thornton based Keelham Farm Shop.

The regional finalists will be judged at the national final in July by some of the top names in the food industry with the winning products and producers announced online and in the magazine’s October 2017 issue.
