Two Yorkshire based chocolatiers fly the flag at Foodies Festivals nationwide

Foodies Festivals have teamed up with two of Yorkshire’s top chocolatiers whose mission it is to take chocolate making and pairing with wine to the nation.

Yorkshire based chocolatiers Fiona Sciolti of Sciolti Botanical Chocolates & David Greenwood-Haigh of Coeur De Xocolat are currently in the middle of a national tour wowing crowds by demonstrating the art of the chocolatier.

With six workshops a day almost 2000 eager participants learn about chocolate history; the chocolate making process from cocoa bean to finished product and they also discover the art of tasting chocolate using sensory analysis. The pair offer tips and tricks for matching chocolate with wine and spirits, teach participants how to make artisan botanical chocolates and the art of crystallising flowers and herbs for cake decoration.

Both Chocolatiers come with fantastic pedigrees; with an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the chocolate industry, David, formerly of Divine Chocolates, is a passionate ambassador of Fairly Traded chocolate. Fiona is 3 times winner of the coveted Deliciouslyorkshire Awards and demonstrates her botanically inspired creations on national TV and venues such as the Royal Festival Hall.

The Chocolatiers have had packed audiences in Brighton and Tatton Park, Manchester, and this weekend will see them working together at Foodies, Hampton Court Palace, London.

We’re really enjoying firmly putting Chocolate and Yorkshire back on the map, and we’re having an absolute ball said Fiona. It’s hard work being on the road, but it’s well worth it when you get such great feedback from the crowds.

Adds David, Yorkshire has been home to more confectionery and chocolate companies than any other region in England. There are exciting enterprises setting up all over the country, and the North is a hot bed of creativity right now.
