Blacker Hall Farm in Wakefield has raised almost £12,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, including more than £1,500 over the past year.
The family-run farm shop has supported the charity since 2011, with customers helping to bring its fundraising total to £11,871.83.
The partnership began after a neighbouring farmer was seriously injured in an accident and received lifesaving assistance from the charity, inspiring the Garthwaite family to support its work.
Fundraising takes place through events including Blacker Hall’s annual Yorkshire Day Festival and Christmas markets, which attract thousands of visitors. The business also donates £1 from every ticket sold for its Big Machines event and Tractor Run.
Edward Garthwaite, owner and managing director, said: “Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a cause very close to our hearts. As a fifth-generation family business, our local community is the lifeblood of Blacker Hall Farm.”
“We hope that Yorkshire Air Ambulance can continue its incredible work supporting farmers, families and communities across Yorkshire for many years to come. It is such an important service that helps when people need it most, and we are proud to do our bit to support them.”
The Garthwaite family has farmed at Blacker Hall since 1901, opening its farm shop in 1999 to sell home-reared meat directly to customers.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance provides rapid-response emergency care across Yorkshire. Donna Thomson, community fundraiser West at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “The partnership with Blacker Hall Farm helps us reach more people across our community and continue to deliver the often life-saving support that they need. The funds raised will directly contribute to helping people in Yorkshire and saving lives.”
