Wicstun Distillery is set to launch a new gin this weekend as part of Pickering’s 1940s Weekend celebrations.
The distillery has teamed up with Pickering Town CIC to create Victory Garden Gin, inspired by ingredients that could have been foraged during the Second World War.
Combining bramble, nettle and elderflower, the dry gin is bottled at 38% ABV. It follows last year’s collaboration, Pickering Watercress and Cucumber Gin, which sold out within a day.
Distillery owner Jago Packer said: “I am excited to be working with PTCIC again this year. They do a wonderful job supporting the town and the 1940s weekend is a fantastic and fun event. The gin is inspired by my grandmother, Elsie Malcolm, who was a land girl during the war.”
Victory Garden Gin will be available from Wicstun’s horsebox bar outside Beck Isle Museum throughout the event, which runs from 9–11 October.
