Winter Wildlife Walks at Side Oven Bakery

Side Oven Bakery, based in Foston on the Wolds, East Yorkshire are hosting an open farm and bakery day in partnership with the Yorkshire Wildlife trust on Saturday 10th February.

The organic food and drinks producers situated on the family farm at the foot of the Wolds, make a range of artisan breakfast cereals, apple juice and fruit cordials all made using ingredients grown or sourced close to the farm.

The free event will include guided wildlife walks around the organic farm where the bakery is based setting off at 10:30am and 1:30pm.

Jessica Sellers who runs the bakery based at Carr House Farm said: “This is a great opportunity to see the huge variety of wildlife there is on an Organic farm. We have so many different types of birds including heron, buzzards, owls, plovers and much more. Not to mention the deer, hare, fox and of course the river life.”

Suitable for all ages, each walk will take approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours and is between 1.5 to 2 miles and there will be a shorter walk on a stoned track which can be done without a guide on the day if necessary.

The Side Oven Bakery team will also be serving hot refreshments all day including their usual range of freshly baked speciality breads, croissant and cakes.
