Wold Top Brewery supports Burton Agnes Jazz & Blues Festival

Award-winning Wold Top Brewery will once again be providing refreshment for the hundreds of people visiting this year’s Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues Festival from 6th to 8th July.

Billed by a critic for The Independent as “Possibly the most enjoyable jazz concert I’ve ever attended”, the annual festival is held in the beautiful, award-winning grounds of Burton Agnes Hall near Driffield and visitors will be able to relax to the sounds of summer blues and jazz whilst enjoying hand pulled real ales and fine Yorkshire food.

Tom Mellor, who owns Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery with his wife Gill, is a keen musician and is delighted to be supporting the festival for the sixth year; “The festival generates a lot of interest from all over the UK and the spectacular venue lends itself perfectly to summer music.”

Over the last six years Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues Festival has become a very popular event that showcases the best live jazz and blues over three nights and two days. Headline acts for 2012 include Zena James, Stacey Kent, Ian Siegal & The Mississippi Mudbloods and Ben Beattie’s Jazz Essentials with Burton Agnes Hall’s owner Simon Cunliffe-Lister.

Festival organizer Simon Cunliffe-Lister is delighted to host the festival again and commented “The bands have all been selected to appeal to a variety of tastes and we are proud to be presenting a fantastic line up of performers that span jazz and blues from the traditional to the funky and from local favourites to internationally renowned acts that will be playing in the grand Elizabethan Hall and in the Hall’s beautiful grounds.”

Simon continued; “As ever, it is a laid-back family event with a Children’s Corner with play area face painters,a children’s entertainer plus 15 acres of magical gardens to explore and a woodland walk with forest creatures to find.”

The festival runs from 6pm-midnight Friday, 11am-midnight Saturday, 11am-6pm Sunday and prices range from £25 for an evening ticket to £50 for a weekend ticket.
