Wold Top Brewery takes the double at Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards

A Wold Newton brewery is celebrating after winning two awards at the prestigious Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards.

Wold Top Brewery directors Tom and Gill Mellor were delighted to consolidate their green credentials with their second ‘Green Business of the Year’ award* and were overwhelmed to be awarded ‘Overall Winner’ by the judges.

Speaking after the win, Gill Mellor said; “What a fantastic result and a great evening! It has been great to see these awards grow over the last seven years and really put Bridlington on the business awards map. We’re thrilled to have won two major environmental awards, a national award for innovation and the coveted three gold stars from the Guild of Fine Food in our tenth anniversary year – it’s been a bit of a blur!”

Organised by Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce in association with Welcome to Yorkshire, the annual awards showcase the best of East and North Yorkshire’s businesses in categories including Best International Business, Best Small Business Best Tourism and Hospitality Business and Best Social Enterprise.
The awards ceremony was preceded by a gala dinner and entertainment in the Royal Hall at the Spa in Bridlington. It was attended by over 500 people who raised over £4,000 for Help for Heroes.

The team at Wold Top Brewery have also been shortlisted for the Hull Mail’s Green Award, they are finalists in the York Press Think Green Business of the Year award and their export success has been recognised with a place in the final of the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Exporter award.
