WORLD GIN AWARDS: SLOEmotion DAMSON GIN WINS BRONZE

Notching up UK awards may be all in a days work for the team at SLOEmotion but last night saw the Yorkshire-based company winning globally.
Taking the stage for this award was one of the more recent additions to the SLOEmotion family, Damson Gin. Winning a bronze medal in the gin liqueur category of the World Gin Awards, this is the second distinction the drink has received, winning a UK Great Taste Award in 2011.

The World Drinks Awards, of which the World Gin Awards is part, celebrate not only the best tasting spirits from around the globe but also the best packaging designs, were presented last night in London. The Award is an annual selection of the very best alcoholic beverages internationally. Entries were received from more than 25 countries, from as far afield as South Africa, the USA, Mongolia and France. The awards exist to promote the very best beverages to consumers worldwide, as well as inform and educate the trade.
Chairman of the judges, Felicity Murray, commented: “The competition featured some eye-opening spirits and the judging panel had a hard time separating the good from the very good. My congratulations go to the winners. The judges’ exacting standards mean that the winners are truly the greatest tasting spirits and best looking pack designs in the world.”

Delighted with last night’s news was the Managing Director of SLOEmotion, Jonathan Curtoys who said,
“Being recognised in the UK with awards for our products is always an honour but to win our first world award is just fantastic. We hope that more of our products will be acknowledged in such categories too.”

Like all SLOEmotion’s liqueurs, the Damson Gin is made in the traditional way by steeping high concentrations of hand-picked fruit and sugar in a fine quality gin, from a small traditional distillery in London, to ensure a fabulous flavour.
SLOEmotion’s Damson Gin has a rich plummy taste from the damson and a hint of almond from the fruit stone with a drier finish than its sister product Sloe Gin, followed by a strong warming glow.
