YORKSHIRE BAKERY AWARDED SALSA ACCREDITATION

Yorkshire craft bakery, Thomas’s, home to Lottie Shaw’s, has been awarded SALSA accreditation, a nationally recognised food safety certification developed for small and micro food producers. The endorsement enables the Elland based business to realise its future growth plans to supply national and regional buyers who require this standard.

Charlotte Shaw, director, Lottie Shaw’s said: “We are delighted to have achieved the SALSA accreditation as our team constantly go the extra mile to ensure our bakery meets our own very high standards and this recognition is testament to our hard work.

“In order to support our growth strategy, national buyers require us to have SALSA and we therefore hope that this accreditation will take us to a new level in sales and better secure the future of our business. SALSA is supported by many of the UK’s leading food buyers, particularly those who seek to buy locally, so we can now confidently demonstrate to both potential buyers and existing distributors that we are producing quality products and are doing so to a safe and legal standard,” continued Charlotte.

Lottie Shaw’s was established by Charlotte Shaw, who hails from a baking family with more than a 100 years heritage and because she was so passionate about her family’s traditional Yorkshire Parkin recipe she decided to set up a new division to the bakery and the distinctive Lottie Shaw’s brand was born. Charlotte packaged and marketed her handmade Yorkshire Parkin to bring a little piece of Yorkshire happiness into homes across the region and to encourage consumers to eat Yorkshire Parkin as an all year round treat.

Thomas’s Bakery bake bread and tea cakes through the night for delivery the following morning to schools, sandwich shops, hospitals, garden centres and more. Lottie Shaw’s produces traditionally handcrafted artisan baked goods, including best selling and award-winning Yorkshire Parkin biscuits, Yorkshire Parkin, Parkin Pudding, Mince Pies, Fruitcake and more.
