Yorkshire Distillery prepare for The Apprentice

The team at East Yorkshire based Yorkshire Tonics are celebrating after their Sales Executive was selected to appear on prime-time BBC programme The Apprentice.

Oliver Medforth has beaten off the competition to feature on the 2024 season and will go on to face Lord Sugar in a series of challenges to see who merits the prize of £250,000 towards their chosen business.

Oliver said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to really test my metal against some really tough competition and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead. I have so much respect for Lord Sugar and what he has achieved in business, and I hope to enjoy the whole experience of The Apprentice”

Oliver has been involved in the family distillery at Raisthorpe from a young age and has fine-tuned his skills in sales over the last 10 years.  More recently, he launched a range of Yorkshire Tonics using natural ingredients to complement the spirits produced by the distillery.

Launched 15 years ago by Oliver’s mother, Julia Medforth at the family farm, Raisthorpe Distillery uses foraged botanicals, blended with water from the underground streams of the Gypsey Spring that runs under the farm, to create small batch, award -winning handcrafted spirits and tonics.

Awarded woth 33 Great Taste Awards across their product range, their drinks are widely stocked in farm shops, delis, independent retailers, as well as the hospitality sector across the UK.
