The team at Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky distillery, Spirit of Yorkshire, is celebrating its tenth anniversary by releasing a 10-year-old single cask whisky.
Launching as part of a masterclass at the distillery’s 10th birthday Open Weekend on 1st and 2nd August, Filey Bay 10-Year-Old Single Cask ‘Decade of Distilling’ is an exclusive release of only 200 bottles, which will only be available to masterclass delegates.
Spirit of Yorkshire co-founder, David Thompson, said: “This single cask whisky was distilled and casked in summer 2016. Presented in a special box and exclusively available at this Masterclass, it shows how our distillery style has matured over the past ten years.
A true field-to-bottle distillery, Spirit of Yorkshire is one of only a handful worldwide to use 100% homegrown barley to produce its single malt whisky and was named one of the top 50 spirits producers in the world by the IWSC in 2025.
David continues: “During our very special ‘Decade of Distilling’ Masterclasses, participants can look forward to over an hour of drams, conversations and discussion about our first 10 years of production, as well as tastings which reflect our journey from maturing malt to our latest release.”
The Masterclasses will take place at 1pm and 3pm on 1st and 2nd August, and spaces are limited to just 50 people per session. Tickets cost £250 and are available to book online at www.spiritofyorkshire.com
General access tickets to the Tenth Anniversary Open Weekend cost £20 in advance and include a tour, three drams and a nosing glass.
