_”Food & Drink Expo is the largest trade show of its kind in the UK in 2012 so it’s no surprise that we’re leading the way in featuring emerging industry trends; the products, suppliers and events that will help businesses towards a profitable future”_ says Jack Halliday, Show Manager. _”This year we’re featuring a record number of new products and these point to the growing popularity of gluten-free products and new flavours and styles of condiments in particular. We’re also seeing a huge amount of NPD within the drinks category, plus this year’s festivities, the Jubilee in particular, have given rise to celebratory and commemorative products, all with profit potential for business owners”._

In addition to being exposed to a number of exciting new brands changing the face of food in 2012, consumers will also have the chance to learn about emerging trends from some of the industry’s most respected experts. Food & Drink Expo and Farm Shop & Deli will feature an exciting range of seminars designed to help visitors take away advice and ideas to apply to their businesses.

Two particular events that have an eye on the future are: ‘Trends in the Retail World’, which will feature at Farm Shop & Deli Live and will be presented by Gordon Leatherdale, Owner of Wild Trail Foods. The Brainfood Factory, Food & Drink Expo’s live events section, will also look at ‘2020 Vision: The Future of Food and Drink’, which will feature a panel of high profile experts who will look at what will we be eating and drinking in the next decade. The panel will consist of Dr Morgaine Gaye, Food Futurologist, Angela Maurer, Head of Innovation at Tesco.com, Kate Arthur, Company Dietician at Alpro, and Arthur Potts-Dawson, chef and founder of the People’s Supermarket.
