Yoyo Laos Sauce Visits Bomb Clearance Teams in Laos

The team behind an award-winning West Yorkshire based sauce company have completed a long-anticipated visit to Laos, seeing first-hand the work of the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), an organisation they help to fund.

Yoyo Laos Sauce, run by husband and wife Yoyo and Frazer Rhodes visited the provincial capital of Xieng Khouang Province, where they met MAG staff and accompanied their field teams working in one of the most heavily bombed regions in the country.

The visit marked an important milestone in their ongoing partnership with MAG, which began in 2021, and now sees the business donates a percentage from each bottle sold to support their work.  The partnership reinforces their commitment to social impact alongside their mission to share Lao food and its culture globally.

Their range of Lao inspired sauces, created from their Halifax base are now stocked throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Laos, and have gained a number of prestigious awards including prestigious stars at the Great Taste Awards.

Hatsadee Rhodes (Yoyo), Co-Founder of Yoyo Laos Sauce, said: “Supporting MAG has always been central to what we do, but seeing the work on the ground was incredibly powerful.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to MAG and their teams for the work they do every day, and we’d like to thank our customers — without them, this support simply wouldn’t be possible.”

Since beginning work in Laos in 1994, MAG has destroyed over 549,000 unexploded bombs, helping make land safe for farming, housing and community development.
