Award-winning Yummy Yorkshire had its ice cream served to hundreds of guests at the BBC Sports Personality Awards in Leeds last weekend.
Yummy Yorkshire, based just outside Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, supplied the Rhubarb and Ginger Ice Cream which was served as part of a trio of desserts at the pre-event meal at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday evening attended by 400 people.
The ice cream featured a rhubarb ripple using rhubarb from Oldroyd’s, based between Leeds and Wakefield in the heart of Yorkshire’s rhubarb triangle.
Louise Holmes, co-founder of Yummy Yorkshire, says:
“We are delighted that Yummy Yorkshire ice cream was served at the prestigious Sports Personality Awards dinner showcasing the best produce from our region.
“After Yorkshire’s success at the London Olympics, and ahead of the Tour de France coming to the county, there was no better place for the BBC to have chosen to host their Sports Personality Award and we are proud to have been a part of it.
“We hope our Rhubarb and Ginger Ice Cream was the perfect finalé to the dinner and warm-up to the Awards themselves.”
