Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream wows Mumford & Sons with bespoke ‘Huddersfield’ flavoured milkshake

A West Yorkshire ice cream producer has launched a new range of milkshakes which it unveiled at the Mumford & Sons concert on June 2 at Greenhead Park, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Award-winning artisan ice cream producer Yummy Yorkshire wowed the band with an exclusive Dandelion & Burdock milkshake called Stopover Special ““ ‘A Taste of Huddersfield’, which it developed in recognition of Mumford & Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers Tour.

It was one of the few producers chosen to cater at the event which involved local business throughout and sold over 150 milkshakes at the concert along with 1,500 cups of tea and coffee.

Yummy Yorkshire developed the special Huddersfield-inspired milkshake in homage to one of the town’s best known companies; Ben Shaws who brought the unique taste of Dandelion & Burdock to the people of the UK.

Lead singer Marcus Mumford was given an exclusive taste of the milkshake before the concert kicked off and described it as “a great flavour that’s really, really nice and very creamy.”

Ted Dwane, bass player with the band, added that the milkshake was “amazing and a great hangover cure!”

The milkshake is made from the fresh milk and cream from Yummy Yorkshire’s 150 Friesian Holstein herd and flavoured with its popular Dandelion & Burdock ice cream, as well as a number of secret ingredients.

According to Yummy Yorkshire’s co-founder Louise Holmes, it has the same sweet, characteristic aniseed taste of the retro drink but with an added creaminess. “It’s a taste of summer with a touch of nostalgia mixed in ““ a real trip down memory lane for those who remember drinking Dandelion & Burdock in the summer as a child.”

Yummy Yorkshire’s new milkshake range, including the ‘Stopover Special’, is now available to buy from its Denby Dale ice cream parlour. There are over 16 flavours to choose from, depending on which ice cream is currently on offer in the ice cream cabinet. Each milkshake is priced at £2.90.
