Zoe Henry joins local Sport & Radio Stars to show their support for local businesses at #wetherbyhour!

22nd October was an important day in the life of #wetherbyhour founder, Jo Maltby! Not only did she celebrate her 40th birthday but saw a record 109 tweeters joining in at the 8th #wetherbyhour LIVE held at the prestigious Wetherby Racecourse.

Zoe Henry (Emmerdale), Ryan Sidebottom (Yorkshire Cricketer), Richard Mathers (Wakefield Wildcats), Alex B Cann (Stray FM) and our very own Mayor of Wetherby all took time out of their busy schedules to show their support for our local businesses and this popular event.

Local resident, Mrs Joanne Maltby said ‘With record numbers attending this month, Wetherby & the surrounding area have really embraced the power of twitter for their business. It’s fantastic to watch local businesses connecting but most of all building their business relationships into friendships! It’s a well know fact that ‘people buy from people’ and I think that the increased popularity of #wetherbyhour online each week and our monthly live nights is testament to that.’

‘Wetherby is extremely lucky to have such a diverse business mix on their doorstep offering more than just value for money. I firmly believe that as a community we should be making conscious decisions to support our local independents. The power is in our hands to shape a brighter future for Wetherby, let’s make it happen! We are live at The Bridge Hotel & Spa on the 12th November and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been before to attend our free event.’

Local business owner, David Scott from Scott Ross Media said ‘A business revolution is happening in Wetherby! Thanks to the hard work and incredible efforts of locally based marketing guru, Joanne Maltby, many more businesses are now seeing the benefits of increased sales and profits. As founder of “Wetherbyhour” Joanne has successfully galvanised the local businesses into an “all for one, one for all” attitude! The town is bursting with optimism. We, at Scott Ross Media, are delighted to be part of the revolution, and our enquiry levels from prospective customers has never been higher. Wetherbyhour is truly a bright light to be part of in the area. What a fantastic organisation to belong to!’
