To celebrate the popular cycling race passing through their home village of Hillam, owners Charlotte and Jason Thompson will be holding an event the evening before on Friday 29th April and celebrating with the help of some of the county’s finest food and drink producers!

The team at Bert’s Barrow are committed to using local produce at their farm shop and this event will be no different!  East Yorkshire based Anna’s Happy Trotters, who produce free range, award winning pork products will be supplying the hog roast for the event which will be served up with a selection of other award winning Yorkshire products including Puckett’s Pickles, Gordon Rhodes Stuffing and Bracken Hill apple sauce.

As well as the hog roast, the Really Indian company will be serving up a vegetarian and gluten free curry option and York based Miss Friday will be hosting her award winning treats at a pop-up desert bar.

Drinks will be curtesy of The Little Red Berry Co who’ll be serving up their delicious fruit liqueurs from the cocktail bar, along with fellow artisan drinks producers Orchards of Husthwaite, Leventhorpe Vineyard, Wold Top Brewery and Brown Cow beers who’ll be making sure the party goes off with a bang.

Charlotte Thompson said: “It’s going to be a proper ‘Yorkshire do’ celebrating some of the best food, drink and music this area has to offer the same weekend as the largest cycle race comes through our village.  We love supporting local producers and there are so many fantastic ones in Yorkshire that it made sense to combine the two!  Everyone is welcome and we can’t wait!

As well as a host of great food there’ll also be entertainment for the whole family in the form of kids entertainment, live music from The Ticket, games, craft stalls and a big screen to watch all the action on.

Camping is available for the weekend and the event will run from 7-11pm.  Tickets cost £10 per person including the hog roast and are available through the farm shop or by contacting the team on 07818 415320
