Brymor shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Wensleydale Ice Cream producers Brymor Dairy are celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious award.

The Jervaulx based producers Yorkshire Ice Cream brand has been shortlisted for The Grocer 2018 New Product of the Year Award, which is highly regarded amongst the food and drink industry and considered to be a measure of the future success of new products in supermarkets.

Yorkshire Ice Cream is up against some notable competition, with the awards attracting some 200 entries which all go through a rigorous judging process.  The finalists will now be subject to scrutiny from a panel of industry experts including food development gurus and journalists before the winners are announced at a ceremony in London on 5th October at the Grosvenor Hotel.

Yorkshire Ice Cream which was launched in 2017, is currently available in Morrisons, Co-op, Booths and Waitrose and is made by Brymor on their farm in Wensleydale using locally sourced milk and ingredients.

Famed for its other eponymous brand of ice cream which is made from milk from its own herd of pedigree Guernsey cows, Brymor’s Managing Director Paul Hodgson said “It is a privilege to be recognised amongst the big names in the food and drink industry and a testament to how good the product tastes when it’s produced with skill using top quality local ingredients.”

In addition to Yorkshire Ice Cream, Brymor Dairy produces 30 different flavours made on the farm in the Yorkshire Dales.  The farm has an ice cream parlour, farm shop and cafe which is a major regional tourist destination which attracts more than 300,000 visitors a year.
