Castle Howard reveal 2023 Christmas plans

Following a record-breaking 2022, Castle Howard have officially launched their plans for Christmas 2023 which will see the iconic North Yorkshire stately home transformed into Neverland.

With last year’s event attracting record-breaking visitor numbers, Christmas in Neverland will run from 11th November to 2nd January and will include the 300-year-old House transformed with floristry, installations, props, soundscapes and projections, creating a Peter Pan inspired festive experience.

Charlotte Lloyd Webber Event Design will be creating the magical installations for the sixth year running, including a Mermaid’s Lagoon, Captain Hook’s Cabin, and the Jolly Roger, with the team prioritising sustainability and using recycled materials including paper and glass in their designs.

Imitating the dog, a northern theatre company specialising in digital projections, will also be joining the team for the first time this year to create projections and soundscapes for a truly immersive experience.

Alongside Neverland, Father Christmas will also be paying a special visit with visitors able to book to meet him, as well as Wreath Making and Guided Tours also being available.

Abbi Ollive, Director of Marketing and Visitors, said: “Christmas at Castle Howard is a special event for so many of our visitors and we’re thrilled to put tickets on sale for 2023. We’re excited to transform the grand Castle Howard halls into a festive treat full of creative storytelling, designed to delight and inspire our visitors. The Peter Pan story is a beautiful, nostalgic, and heart-warming, and we’re hoping everyone that experiences it rediscovers their inner child and leaves believing in fairies.”
