Driffield businesses shortlisted in national poultry awards

The teams at two East Yorkshire poultry businesses are celebrating after being shortlisted in a national poultry awards scheme.

Middleton on the Wolds based Soanes Poultry and Clive Soanes Broilers have been shortlisted in three categories of the National Egg and Poultry Awards that celebrate achievement, excellence and best practice in the sector.

The National Egg and Poultry Awards are backed by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), the British Poultry Council (BPC) and the National Farmers’ Union (NFU). Soanes Poultry has reached the final of the Processor of the Year award, whilst Clive Soanes Broilers reached the final of the Poultry Business of the Year and Farm Manager Dave Hannibal in the Unit Manager of the Year award. 

Claire Wright, MD of Clive Soanes Broilers and FD of Soanes Poultry said: “We are one of the smallest independent poultry businesses in the UK and it’s a credit to our hard-working teams that we have been shortlisted.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Hilton Bankside Hotel on Tuesday 9th July.
