Fodder, Harrogate’s regional food shop and café and recent winner of the Great Taste Award’s ‘Shop of the Year’ has launched a range of ready meals. The meals, which have been developed by Head Chef Mehdi Boukemach, in response to customer requests to have Fodder café quality food at home, are the latest in a long line of Fodder made products and are predicted to be a big hit.
In preparation the ready meals were entered and two won at this year’s Great Taste Awards ““ the ‘Oscars’ of the food world. The Lush Lamb Bhuna was awarded two stars and the Saucy Sausage Casserole, one star. Cheeky Chicken Casserole and Brazen Beef Stew complete the quartet of dishes, which follow Fodder’s ethos of using good quality, local produce.
“We’ve been preparing all year to get to this point,” reported Heather Parry, Managing Director. “Mehdi has worked closely with the butchery team to find the perfect cuts of meat and source other ingredients to produce the desired flavours and textures. Customers have been asking us to offer Fodder Café quality food to take home, so we have. This is the perfect meal solution for people who don’t have time to prepare a full meal – we take the time to slow cook the dishes which can then be finished at home in a matter of minutes.”
