A North Yorkshire company producing healthy jams and sauces aimed at children are celebrating after having their award winning products stocked nationwide in Waitrose.
Fearne and Rosie based at Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales is the brainchild of school teacher Rachel Kettlewell. Named after her two young daughters, the business began whilst she was on maternity leave and struggled to find quick and healthy options, so decided to create her own.
The product range has since grown to include a number of jams and cooking sauces, all with reduced or no added sugar giving parents an alternative to the high sugar versions currently available.
Rachel said: “When I started to wean the girls I was overwhelmed with information, ideas and enthusiasm as to how to provide my children with healthy, nutritional and fun foods. I was shocked at the amount of sugar in a lot of the readily available quick meal choices and I felt that there must be a better alternative. Fearne and Rosie. I wanted there to be a healthier alternative for my children.
“I’m really proud of the products we’ve created and thrilled that they are going to be available nationwide through Waitrose.”
