Award winning, Helmsley based hotel The Black Swan, is set to host its annual skating event, with pop-up ice rink and outdoor food and drink stalls, overlooking the town’s historic market place again this December.
Heralding the start of the festive season in the popular North Yorkshire Market town, the event will run from Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th.
The festive-themed ice rink which is surrounded by Christmas trees, can accommodate up to 50 skaters at a time and costs £7 per person for 30 minutes. Refreshments including mulled wine, soft drinks, wine, beers and hot and cold snacks will also be available to enjoy ‘al fresco’ from the pop-up bar.
The Black Swan’s ice rink is just part of Helmsley’s seasonal festivities, which coincides with the town’s 4th ‘Small Business Saturday’, which takes place on Sat, 3rd December and is part of a national campaign to promote independent businesses and encourage festive shopping on the local High Street.
Helmsley, known for its picturesque setting, array of individual shops, galleries and eateries, owned and supported by the local community, was recognised in last year’s Great British High Street Awards, as Winner in the ‘Market Town’ category.
The iconic hotel are also offering a special rate pre-festive stay for those wishing to make a weekend treat of the festivities. The ‘Festive Fling’ stay, comprising overnight accommodation, mince pies and mulled wine upon arrival, a three-course dinner served with a seasonal twist from the Market Menu and a hearty full Yorkshire breakfast. Prices from just £189 per room (based upon two sharing a Classic room) and is available from Thursday 1st December 2016 to Friday 23rd December 2016.
