The team at a South Yorkshire based wholesale and distribution firm are celebrating after one of their Chairman was included in the list of Queen’s Birthday Honours.
John Plant, Chairman and Managing Director of Sheffield based GW Price has been awarded an MBE for Services to Business and Work in the Communities in the North of England.
John, who has worked at GW Price for 54 years and is the fourth generation to run it after it was started by his great grandfather, has built the firm into one of the leading fresh fruit and vegetable company’s in the Country.
He said: “To say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement. I accepted it not just for myself but on my behalf of my family and GW Price, with all our great staff and loyal customers.”
Established in 1901, the award-winning Eckington based firm have built a reputation for supplying high quality fresh fruit and vegetables and today the business supplies companies throughout the UK, from small independent hotels and restaurants through to the UK’s largest supermarkets.
