Harrogate Tipple win five international awards

The team at Yorkshire craft distiller Harrogate Tipple are celebrating after scooping five prestigious industry awards.

The family run company were awarded the IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) awards

for their Premium Harrogate Gin and Premium Downton Abbey Gin, both of which were given Silver in the 2020 awards having achieved marks above 90. In addition, their Blueberry Harrogate Gin, Rhubarb Downton Abbey Gin and Rhubarb Harrogate Gin all achieved Bronze.

Each year an expert panel from the IWSC, which sets the benchmark for international wine and spirit quality, blind taste and review hundreds of spirits from across the world.  The carefully assembled panel of experts sample each spirit individually and then thoroughly discuss each in turn.  Any scoring 90 and above are then re-tasted by the judging committee for their final confirmation and to ensure consistency across the tasting.

Steve Green, co-founder of Harrogate Tipple said: “The IWSC is one of the most well-respected competitions in the spirits industry, so we’re very proud that the expert panel of judges proved their good taste and recognised the quality of our delicious range of gins.

“After all our hard work over the last four years, it’s fantastic to receive these prestigious accolades.”

The craft distiller have also recently won a Great Taste Award for their Premium Harrogate Gin; and its Downton Abbey Gin and Whisky range has also been shortlisted for the License Awards 2020 for Best Licensed Food or Drink Range alongside some of the best-known brands in the world.
