Last Call for Taste Award Entries

Entries for this year’s Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards close at the end of August, and the team have announced a stellar line up of industry experts joining this year’s judging panel.

Now the biggest food and drink accolades in the North, the Taste Awards, run by the Regional Food Group or Yorkshire and the Humber (Delciouslyorkshire) are a huge celebration of Yorkshire’s thriving and diverse food and drink industry and aim to shine a light on and champion the fantastic products and businesses in the county.

Attracting hundreds of entries from across the region, this year’s Awards include 23 categories including Best Yorkshire Beer, Bakery, Free From, Fresh Meat and Pork Pie amongst many other, as well as several non-product categories such as Best Independent Retailer and Best New Businesses.

This year’s judging panel includes a familiar faces including Head Judge, artisan food expert Nigel Barden and Chef Consultant Steph Moon, alongside some exciting new additions including buyers from Selfridges and Booths, international wine and spirit experts, chefs, food writers and consultants to name but a few.  Also making a guest appearance on this year’s panel is The Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen.

Jointly headline sponsored by the newSchool for Business and Society at the University of York and FixOurFood, an ambitious research programme inspiring action across Yorkshire to co-create a regenerative food system, the awards have grown to become the largest and most respected food and drink accolades in the North of England.

Judging takes place at the beginning of September, after which this year’s much anticipated shortlist will be announced, before the 2022 winners are revealed at a glittering, black-tie event on Wednesday 9th November at the Pavilions of Harrogate, hosted by Nigel and Steph.

Nigel said: “These fantastic Awards are now in their 18th year and just get better and better!

“Each year we discover new businesses, new products and fantastic innovation which makes our job as judges so exciting but also incredibly challenging.

“This year’s judging panel is a who’s who of food and drink expertise, so if you want to get your products and business in front of these industry experts, and receive detailed feedback, it’s time to get your entries in online!”

Entries are open now online until the end of August, with judging taking place at the Yorkshire Showground in early September.  For more information and to enter online visit www.deliciouslyorkshire.co.uk/taste-awards-2022
