A limited-edition dressing launched by the team at Thixendale based Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has raised £750 for its charity of the year.
The team have been raising funds for HOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group) York Street Kitchen, a registered charity which prepares and distributes meals for people in food poverty. Over recent months the funds raised have helped the team of volunteers cook and serve around 300 meals each Sunday and deliver food parcels to struggling families throughout the week.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Jason Thompson developed the Lemon and Caper Dressing recipe and is delighted that its success has raised valuable funds for the charity: “It’s very rewarding to work on new product development which is not only delicious but gives back to our local community by raising vital funds for a deserving cause.”
Part of a range of flavoured dressings made from cold-pressed extra-virgin rapeseed oil that is pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm near Malton, the Lemon and Caper Dressing is available from selected independent retailers and online at www.yorkshirerapeseedoil.co.uk
