A new guide of the best of North Yorkshire’s independent restaurants and food & drink producers was launched this week, giving the region’s food lovers a fantastic coffee table book of all the great places to eat and drink, along with recipes from each place mentioned.
The North Yorkshire Cook Book boasts the very best of the region’s independent food scene; from Michelin-starred restaurants to cafés, pubs, chocolatiers, producers and suppliers. The book strives to promote the region’s diverse approach to catering, with each chapter focusing on creative, delicious yet unique food and the stories behind each dish.
The book gives an insight into each of the places featured, and some truly great recipes. Lockwoods’ recipe is Yorkshire pork, cured in smoked paprika, with Jersey Royals, young green vegetables and a roast hazelnut dressing.
Andrew Pern, Michelin-starred chef of The Star Inn at Harome has written the book’s foreword, and expresses pride and passion for the potential of the county’s extraordinary food scene.
