Lottie Shaw’s celebrate Sainsburys Success

The team at a West Yorkshire Yorkshire bakery are celebrating after having their products stocked nationwide in Sainsburys.

Already popular with the North’s best independent food retailers and stately homes, Lottie Shaw’s Yorkshire Parkin will now be available in 280 Sainsbury’s outlets throughout the country in a take home pack.

The sticky ginger, oatmeal and treacle cake, traditionally eaten on bonfire night, is an ever-popular product and a firm favourite with the family run bakery’s customers.

Using traditional Yorkshire recipes handed down through three generations of master bakers, the company has expanded over recent times having outgrown their original premises in Elland and relocated to an impressive purpose built 12,500 sq ft bakery in Brighouse, in the heart of the Pennines.

Lottie Shaw’s owner Charlotte Shaw who took over and developed the brand 12 years ago said: “We’re delighted that Sainsburys have decided to support an independent, local bakery on a national scale.  We’re really looking forward to partnering with them and spreading the joy of seriously good Yorkshire baking throughout the country.

Natasha Millard, Sainsbury’s Cake Buyer added said: “We’re always looking to provide our customers with distinctive products so we’re delighted to be able to make this much loved local favourite easily accessible for shoppers across the country”.

Yorkshire Parkin can be served warm with custard as a winter warmer, with berries and ice cream as a summer treat or even buttered, but is best served as a delicious cake with a cup of tea.
