Masons Clean Sweep at Global Awards

A North Yorkshire based distillery has picked up a clean sweep of awards at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWC).

The team at Masons Gin, based in Bedale are celebrating after scooping not one, but four awards at the competition – one for each of the spirits in its range.  Masons Dry Yorkshire Original Gin and Masons Yorkshire Vodka both won Gold, while their Lavender Edition Gin took Silver and Yorkshire Tea Edition Gin was awarded Bronze.

With almost two decades of experience and an esteemed panel of judges, SFWC is one of the most influential competitions in the industry, with an award from the organisation indicating the highest calibre of quality and craftsmanship.

Facing tough competition from some of the most renowned international distillers and fellow small batch craft producers alike, Masons which was founded by husband and wife team Karl and Cathy Mason, triumphed in the blind tasting process which has been carefully designed to ensure every entry is treated fairly and given equal consideration.

Karl said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised in such a way at SFWC. Awards of this kind mean a great deal to us, and we are thrilled that everything we make won an award. Our whole range is now award-winning and we are incredibly proud of this achievement.”

Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin is available online and at a growing list of stockists throughout the UK, ranging from small independent stores to high-end retailers such as Harvey Nichols.
