A West Yorkshire based ice cream producer is celebrating after having three of their innovative new flavours listed in a national chain of supermarkets.
Leeds based Northern Bloc will now have their Ginger Caramel, Chocolate and Sea Salt and Hazelnut and Tonka Bean flavours available in 59 Waitrose branches across the UK, mainly in London and will be the company’s first venture into the capital with a national retailer.
Demand for the firms inventive flavours has grown rapidly since the company was founded by Dirk Mischendahl and Josh Lee and Northern Bloc’s popular flavours now available throughout the region at a number of independent retailers as well as at attractions including Bolton Abbey Estate, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and even Lords Cricket Ground.
Northern Bloc director Josh Lee said: “We’re really excited for our launch. It’s fantastic for Northern Bloc to be available nationally in Waitrose with our unique range of flavours and it’s a huge opportunity for us. It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey so far, and as a team we’ve all worked hard to get here so we’re really proud and excited for more people to be able to enjoy our great tasting ice cream.”
