Raisthorpe in the pink with Grantley Hall’s Shaun Rankin

An artisan Yorkshire Wolds drinks producer have partnered with a luxury country house hotel to create a new cocktail which will accompany their award-winning menu.

Raisthorpe Distillery’s new pink hued ‘Clover Club’ cocktail has been designed to perfectly showcase the bespoke lemongrass, thyme and basil gin they created using botanicals taken from the kitchen garden at Grantley Hall which was launched last year to celebrate the opening of their new fine dining restaurant, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall

Anthony Speight, Estate Bar Manager at the five-star hotel, created the cocktail using the bespoke gin, which is topped with homemade raspberry syrup and lemon juice and used aquafaba (chickpea water) to give it a silky mouth feel without detracting from the natural flavours.

Founder of Raisthorpe Distillery Julia Medforth said: “Pink drinks are associated with feel good times and made for celebrating. After a tough 18 months, we’re all ready for a party and a touch of the roaring 20s so it’s very rewarding to see our products come to life in the hotel’s cocktails. We’re sure guests at Grantley Hall are going to really enjoy them.”

The family run drinks producer have also created a ‘Grantley Hall’ gin which is available in the five-star hotel’s Norton Bar and guests will also be able to enjoy a seasonal ‘Damson Fizz’ featuring Raisthorpe’s signature warming Damson Gin which is available for guests to enjoy at their leisure in the bedrooms.

Launched more than 10 years ago at the family farm in Thixendale, Raisthorpe now also produce a range of award-winning Yorkshire Tonics to sit alongside their popular range of gin liqueurs, vodkas and dry gins all produced on farm using their own still.  As well as receiving a total of 16 Great Taste Awards (known as the Oscars of the food industry) over the last decade, Raisthorpe continue to innovate and expand their product line using locally sourced ingredients.

Their award-winning range is available to buy online through their website as well as at farm shops, independent retailers and through their own shop within the York Designer Outlet.
