A master preserve maker is celebrating after achieving success at the 2022 Great British Foods Awards.
Rosalind Waugh, who creates a range of sweet and savoury preserves under the brand of Rosalind’s Larder, won the prestigious marmalade category with her Blood Orange Negroni Marmalade as well as receiving a highly commended for her Gooseberry & Tonka Bean Jam, which pairs sweet, vanilla flavour tonka beans with home grown gooseberries from the family’s allotment.
Rosalind said: “I love Campari, of course my family is Italian! Whilst it isn’t a full blown Negroni, I have used cinnamon, cardamom and star anise for a spicey edge to soften the powerful bitter flavour of the Campari and its perfect for making a lovely Negroni cocktail.
“I’m delighted with the Great British Food award results and it’s wonderful to be recognised for some innovative and unusual flavour combinations in such a prestigious competition.”
