Rosebud Preserves’ launch new season range

Masham based Rosebud Preserves have launched their new season marmalades along with a new gin liqueur.

The range includes the award-winning classic Marmalade that the family run company has been making since it was founded in 1989 by owner Elspeth Biltoft which continues to be one of the companies best sellers

In 2018, to celebrate Rosebud’s 30th birthday, the Seville Orange Marmalade Gin Liqueur was created to complement the range and has become an instant hit with their loyal customer base around the country.

Elspeth says: “I love this time of year in the kitchen at the farm as the air is scented with the fragrance of gently simmering orange peel.

“We use the best seasonal produce to make our products with our Seville oranges cultivated in orchards in the heart of Andalucía by the same family who have been running the farm for over three generations.  The beauty of these oranges is that they have a special sweet bitterness that imparts a superb flavour to our marmalades.

“Our first marmalade in the range was the Seville Orange Marmalade and it’s proved to be a very popular product since the start. Over the years we’ve added to our range by carefully experimenting with different fruits to create tantalizing products packed with the glorious flavour of citrus as well as teaming up with other local producers including Masons Yorkshire Gin and Ampleforth Abbey to create special versions and Spirit of Masham who we worked with on our liqueur.”

Distilled in a traditional copper stills to create a deep, dark and warming blend of bitter orange, molassed sugar and botanically richness the hand-crafted gin has been a runaway success and is produced just a short distance from Rosebuds base in Healey.
