Rosebud Preserves and Masons Yorkshire Gin collaboration

Two Iconic Yorkshire brands have teamed up to produce a delicious new treat showcasing both of their products.

Masham based Rosebud Preserves have joined forces with Masons Yorkshire Gin who are based down the road in the market town of Bedale to produce their new Satsuma & Masons Gin Marmalade.

This collaborative approach is something that the team at Rosebud Preserves is very proud of as it highlights their Yorkshire heritage, as well as promoting the abundance of superb ingredients and products the area is famous for.

Rosebud Preserves has been making its jams, marmalades, chutneys and jellies at Masham, North Yorkshire, since 1989 when the company was started by Elspeth Biltoft.  Her founding principles, to source local produce whenever possible and to cook traditional recipes using time honoured techniques without the use of additives and preservatives remains the same today.

Elspeth said: “Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin is a great product, created by our near neighbours Karl and Catherine Mason in Bedale.

“We first tried this splendid spirit with a twist of orange zest over ice and were immediately inspired. The obvious partner was marmalade, but would we use bitter or sweet oranges, or perhaps red grapefruit? After a couple of false starts we settled on satsumas, a few of the botanicals present in the spirit itself and a slug of Masons Gin to finish.

“We have worked in collaboration with a number of Yorkshire food and drink producers over the last couple of years, to create products which have proved to be very popular with our customers and we hope they love this one.”

Bright, fresh and floral with botanical notes of lavender, juniper and star anise the new marmalade is available throughout the region at independent retailers, farm shops and delis as well as online at rosebudpreserves.co.uk
